Client: Trammell Crow Residential
Type: Mixed-Use, Multi-Family
Domain is a new mixed-use building featuring 166 apartments over 9000 square feet of ground floor retail. The project occupies a prominent site in West Hollywood’s dynamic East Gateway District.
Domain’s neighbors include the historic Lot Movie Studio, home to film production facilities and entertainment company headquarters such as the Oprah Winfrey Network, and the Formosa Café, watering hole to generations of Hollywood stars.
The Portal, clad in bright red panels, plays off of the red painted Formosa Café across the street and directs views from an adjacent plaza towards the Hollywood sign in the distance. Within the project, a variety of communal gathering places, from a large amenity pool deck to a series of more intimate roof terraces, capture stunning vistas of the city while encouraging socializing.
Units are arranged to maximize views to the surrounding Hollywood Hills, with the building stepping down towards the north to open resident sightlines. Generous private decks for all units maximize these views. The first floor of the building features street facing residences with private patios along quieter side streets, and a café and market along Santa Monica Boulevard, providing urban amenities to residents and neighbors in this vibrant community.
