Studio One Eleven is working together with the Board of Directors of St. Francis Center of Long Beach to plan the necessary renovation and rehabilitation of the center’s location at 808 E. 4th Street in Long Beach. Opened in 1970, St. Francis Center of Long Beach served the needs of the local homeless community, never forgetting the core mission of caring for the less fortunate people of our society. Operating five days a week, St. Francis Center fed 110 homeless persons a day and supported ten families a day with groceries. Due to the state of disrepair of the building, the center closed temporarily.
New plans for the center building harken back to the design style of the early work of Edward Killingsworth, who was the architect for the original building. The new St. Francis Center honors and embraces the mid-century design style that is part of the character of the City of Long Beach. This necessary building rehabilitation and renovation is currently fundraising and needs all of our support. For more information and to donate, visit: www.sfclb.org
