We’re proud to share that our Partner, Alan Pullman, and his wife, Stephanie, are featured in the latest installment of the Open Space series for their restoration of the Kimpson-Nixon House, a 1940 modernist gem (in the International Style) in Long Beach designed by Raphael Soriano.
The short film beautifully captures not just the architecture, but the lived experience within its walls, the way light moves through the space, how indoor and outdoor life blend seamlessly, and how the home fosters a quiet clarity.
For Alan, living in this house as an architect is more than a privilege—it’s a source of inspiration. The purity of Soriano’s design, its restraint and openness, encourages him to design more consciously, with a deepened sensitivity to light, space, and the potential of open, generous environments.
We’re honored to see this thoughtful restoration included in Open Space, a series that explores the intersection of architecture, history, and community with care and nuance.
