Advocacy for Change

At Studio One Eleven, we believe in the tremendous value of diversity and inclusion in our community and our workplace. Every individual is encouraged and rewarded for reaching their greatest potential, and we endeavor to ensure fairness as we diligently strive to make the right choices.

The firm has an active Racial Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee (REDI Committee) that meets monthly to examine the firm’s commitment and create initiatives for all staff members. The REDI Committee works to create an anti-racist culture at RDC-S111 and Fathom, one that is founded on NOMA’s B.R.A.V.E. declaration: Banish racism, Reach out to those who are grieving, Advocate for the disinherited, Vote in every American election and Engage each human that you meet as YOU would want to be engaged. The effort is hallmarked by:

Diversity

A staff that reflects the mix of racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds that make up our world.

Equity
Standards for fair treatment, opportunities and advancement for all team members, no matter the color of their skin.
Inclusion
A culture that welcomes all team members to have a voice and feel that each person is genuinely part of the community.
Commitments
Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI)

In line with our firm’s commitment to Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI), Studio One Eleven embraced the SoCalNOMA DEI Challenge in 2020. Our dedication involves active collaboration with NOMA, including participation in their annual diversity survey, which encompasses details on the firm’s size, employee ethnicity, gender, and age. By accepting the SoCal NOMA DEI Challenge, Studio One Eleven is committed to partnering with NOMA to elevate this initiative into a national movement among design firms, furthering our pursuit of REDI principles.

AIA 2030 Commitment

Studio One Eleven has embraced the AIA 2030 Commitment, a national framework featuring straightforward metrics and a standardized reporting format, providing a structured approach to monitor progress and aid in meeting the 2030 Challenge targets. This commitment serves as an actionable climate strategy, establishing standards and goals to achieve net-zero emissions in the built environment.

Incorporating sustainable practices into all our projects, we prioritize local sourcing, cost-effective products, and have the capability to pursue both LEED and Well ratings as desired. Notably, our office holds prestigious certifications, being LEED Platinum and WELL Gold certified—a distinctive accomplishment, marking us as the first architectural firm with this dual rating west of the Mississippi.

Commitment to Social Change through Design

At Studio One Eleven, we are proud to offer pro bono services when we can, in support of our mission and our firm’s core pillars of Social Impact and Advocacy. This commitment helps address the pressing environmental and facility needs of nonprofit organizations, supporting efforts that catalyze positive social change. When resources allow, we work with our nonprofit clients on fees and services—reinforcing our dedication to designing vital spaces that serve and strengthen our communities.
