Studio One Eleven assisted Metro’s Joint Development Team to identify and showcase the development potential for the Little Tokyo/Arts District Regional Connector station site. The Project Team engaged in outreach efforts with the Little Tokyo and Arts District communities and conducted an opportunity and constraints analysis to create a detailed framework of potentials and challenges for future development of the site. The analysis was synthesized in an Opportunity Overview (OO) that serves as a unique planning and communication tool, illustrating the potential for a future project in a visually compelling, user-friendly way. Studio One Eleven also helped Metro craft a Request for Innovation (RFI) to developers that, along with the OO, invited innovative development ideas and set the stage for Joint Development of the station site.
Studio One Eleven developed evaluation criteria for the proposed design submissions, and assisted Metro in reviewing proposals to facilitate a Joint Development partnership that could meet the goals of Metro and the Little Tokyo and Arts District communities. As a continuation of this work, LA Metro has chosen Studio One Eleven to be the design review consultant for the next phase of the project.
