Studio One Eleven worked with SBCCOG and six South Bay Cities to rethink under-utilized commercial sites as potentials for new housing.

Working with the South Bay Cities Council of Six South Bay Cities Governments, our team assisted the cities with identifying underutilized opportunity sites for conversion to housing to meet RHNA goals, while promoting principles of compact communities and sustainable development. We evaluated the redevelopment potential for select parcels as opportunities for new development, intensification, or horizontal mixed-use while identifying ways to integrate multimodal mobility options that would be successful in the South Bay including SBCCOG’s Local Travel Network (LTN). Our team also studied the financial viability of new housing development and provided insights and recommendations on ways to further new housing in these cities. Our team worked with staff in each City to provide solutions targeted to their condition, while maintaining clear lines of communication, schedules and expectations to create a timely and impactful study.
