Daylight has partnered with Decro Corporation and the Downtown Women’s Center to provide a 46 metal-framed modular unit supportive housing project for women experiencing homelessness and survivors of domestic violence.
The building design was intended to create a screen to the open space amenity roof deck and courtyard as protection for residents. The open stairs are located at the end of corridors to encourage residents to use stairs and facilitate natural ventilation. The community spaces occupy the entire ground floor fronting Sherman Way and flows into the secluded residential courtyard beyond. Metal box fins are attached on the southern facing facade to provide solar shading. A large protected level 4 roof deck overlooks the courtyard spaces, providing security for these gathering spaces.
