Rebuild Beach is a multilayer initiative to transform 1.5 miles of Beach Boulevard from Lincoln Avenue to Ball Road, to create an inviting, walkable, livable street, with thriving businesses. An important step in achieving this vision was to have Beach Boulevard relinquished from Caltrans back to City control, providing opportunities for streetscape enhancements and improvements that can enable the City to achieve its goals for the corridor.
Recognizing these possibilities, the Street Improvements Toolkit builds off of the existing Rebuild Beach efforts, the Beach Boulevard Specific Plan and ideation from City staff to identify street improvements in the short- and long-term that can continue to drive towards a walkable, living, thriving corridor on Beach.
