Children Today provides education and fosters early children development services for homeless and abused children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in Long Beach.

In partnership with nonprofit Children Today, Studio One Eleven transformed a former daycare into the new Eco House—a permanent, LEED Gold-certified facility providing early childhood education and support services for homeless and abused children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The adaptive reuse project consolidates two former playhouses into one cohesive campus, integrating sustainable, child-centered design elements that promote active play and healing environments indoors and out.

Led by a committee of local leaders and designers, the project raised $1.25M in funds and exemplifies how thoughtful design can advance critical social missions in underserved communities.
